The second film

I was afraid of the second film from the begining till the end unfortunetaly. It was not so fluent as the first film, I had really had hard time with my group. Pavel was not in school, so at the begining I shared my ideas with Marcell and he gave a free hand for actually.When we were thinking on the first film with Julcsi I had an idea to make a film about schizophrenia, but we changed our idea, because it's a hard theme for a SILENT movie.
So, I got the idea that we could make it for the second one, I told to Marcell and he liked the idea very much. I could talk with Pavel at the Video Production lesson on the 10th week, because I hadn't seen him before.I told him what we had agreed on with Marcell and I had already handle the synopsis,so it was obvious that we have to follow the idea about the schizophrenia. We started to think about the movie at the lesson, but Marcell was missing,so we decided to meet on an other day.
As far as I remember the appointment was on Thursday on that week, but Marcell came at the last moment and we had already shared our ideas with Pavel.He told his own idea,then it was my turn and finally we put them together,but still the end was missing.After the appointment we didn't meet, nobody was at school from my group and the deadline of the Script was coming.On Monday,one day before the deadline, again nobody was at school,so I went home and decided to start the script alone.I was writing it the hole night,but I couldn't finish the end,so I asked few hours from Phil on Tuesday to finish it.
And suddenly Pavel came!That was good ,because i didn't have any good idea and we started to think together, and slowly we had figured out the end,then finish the Script.Marcell again arrived at the end,so I asked him to print it and give it to Phil.
We had two weeks left untill the "film festival" and we wanted to shoot on the 12th weekend,I had organized the actress(the same girl from the first film),but on Friday she called me that she cannot come because she had to go to the National Theatre.Pffff.I called Pavel and told him the situation and we agreed on an other day.
Then it was a big mess!!!Nobody had time to meet... I got ill ,Pavel was working,Marcell...I don't know what happened to Marcell...
Because the actress couldn't come, I decided to be an actress since we didn't have other chance to shoot the movie.
Finally we met on Saturday and started to shoot... We went to Marcell's place,because at the begining the main character(me) is preparing in a room for a date.It took 3-4 hours to shoot the first scene,because we had to change things in the room to make it more girlish.Then it was already too late,about 9-10pm. so I had to go... We met again on the next day at 3pm. and started to continue it in a very cosy café near to Marcell's place.We were shooting about 3-4 hours again,that was good that we had two cameras,because it made the hole process easier.Pavel was my partner in the film,the boy who is dating with me,but he didn't learn the script...
We started to improvising,because I could'n say my text/part if my partner doesn't know it.
It was very hard!Marcell was recording with two cameras and I had to focus on my role.I wanted to work behind the camera,not in front of.I couldn't help much in camera shooting,because I had to play unfortunetaly...
Then we went to Andrássy street to shoot when the girl is hurrying for the date and meet with a stranger(who was Marcell).It was dark,but we had finish it at that day,because Tuesday was the deadline of the movie.About 10pm we could record the end next to Moulin Rouge,because there was a mirror where the girl realizes that she is "not alone".
Next day I recorded the narration and gave it to Pavel.
He said at the begining that he could do the editing,I was happy,because i did nearly everything before,the synopsis,the script...
But unfortunetaly he couldn't finish it untill Tuesday and we didn't show it on Wednesday.
I was very nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phil was very kind to us and gave 2 more days, I am hoping that Pavel will finish it.
If not,I want to show my longer version of the first film what I am editing if Phil can accept it.
I don't want to get bad mark because of this,I was working really a lot for this lesson and I LIKED IT!
It would be not fair if i get bad mark.
One of my favourite class! :)

seventh and eight week

The hardest thing was to organize everything before the shooting and to get the actors in time.We were working with people from the Actor's Academy and from a drama school which made the whole filming easier, they understood our ideas immediately.I enjoyed VERY much working in accordance with each other,they were really good(i mean the actors).
We had many many problems during the shooting, for example one of the actor shaved his mustage, the police came, and the weather and so on..... That's why it was crucial to change few things what we didn't expect.it was too late when we realized also that we might have more than 4 minutes. So we had to cut 2 scenes from the storyboard during the editing.
I like the athmosphere of our movie and I am sure that I will edit the longer version as well ,because it's worth while.It would be about 10 minutes and without the small mistakes, because I have learnt a lot of from my mistakes.
I am looking for the next project, because I started to really like it,however,it's very hard, time-consuming. and very complex.
My only problem that we have not enough time until the second storyboard's deadline, but hopefully we will manage it.

Sixth week

I regret that I didn't go to the lesson today, because this is my favourite class, but i have a temperature and headache. Finally I finished the drawings yesterday, I'am satisfied, because this is the first time to draw a storyboard and the result is quite nice, I think. I hope Phil will like it, because i was working A LOT! Yesterday we had a meeting with Julcsi and I gave it to her then she was writing the descriptions, the actors, cutomes and the loctions of the shooting. We are working in conjuction with each other and share the tasks.
I am really sorry that I couldn't be at the exposition, because I wanted to explain it, but If you have any question, I would love to answere it! :)

Fifth week

We were watching parts of a movie and observing the time between two edits.
Timing is really important!!!
The second part of the lesson was again to think over our movie and continue the storyboard.I forgot to mention that we had changed our idea and made up a new story. In my opinion it will be more creative and interesting than the "old" one. I am very excited how are we going to visualize it.We have already some sketches, but there are more things to do than I tought, because we must know all of the equipments we need, customes and the location of the shooting as well.
Hard , but very arresting if you are interested. :)

Fourth week

This lesson was my absolutely favourite. We got some theory how to edit then a task in the garden.
We had to choose one thing from the nature and shoot it from 6-8 different camera movements ( extreme close up, camera holding...etc.)
My theme was the Sun, it was very compelling to see the playing of the ray through the camera,I really would like to work more with these materials in the future and make a short clip of it with music.

Third week

This lesson was not so exciting, it was more theorical...
We got to know more about the camera moves and how to begin writing a basic script. I have realised how useful to make a storyboard before shooting and editing to avoid mistakes.
At the second part of the lesson, we had time and possibility to think about our own movie with Julcsi. For me it would be easier to work with a given theme, because we are moving in too wide range of the oportunities and I have so much ideas in my head.It's hard to select really good and creative one.
After a long brainstorming, Julcsi and me made up a story about schizophrenia, but still I need time, music and composure to improve the idea and imagine the story.

Second week

This lesson was really instructive and helpful for me. We have learnt about the rule of thirds, the white balance and the critical areas of shooting.Then we got a task to follow a storyboard and filming it outside in the garden. The rain made our work a bit harder, cause we had to hide the camera from the water.
Julcsi and Natela was acting , but everybody took part of the brainstorming and directing.
I have never seen a storyboard before, it helped me a lot to got an overwiev of the hole process from brainstorming until the filming and editing.
I am still curious how we are going to paint together what we have recorded.

First week

I forgot my name and password, but finally I found it in my notebook from last year furtunately.
So I can start to use this blog again.
I was hardly waiting for this class, because I was always interested about the bckround of the scene.
I was studying in Media line for 1 year in Denmark,but we didn't have good camera and I think it will be easier and exciting with these equipments.
